Tested on expeditions from Alaska to Antarctica, the lightweight Outdoor Research Brooks Ranger mountaineering overboots have proven stalwart and warm time and again! Closed-cell foam around foot retains heat in frigid conditions; crush-resistant foam insoles insulate against cold crampons. Seamless toe cap construction further helps prevent heat dissipation. Foam foot sections and insoles are easily removed for drying. Internal hook-and-loop strap with turnbuckle holds the heel down for a firm fit. Rugged 1000-denier Cordura nylon foot shell resists abrasions from ice, rock and crampons; coated packcloth lining resists snow and rain. Knee-length uppers feature rugged, highly breathable Schoeller Dynamic Extreme® fabric for durability and weather protection. Large circumference uppers with four-way stretch fit over thick expedition clothing and offer full freedom of movement. Hook-and-loop top strap cinches cuff snug to keep snow out; 1.5" hook-and-loop, full-length front closure ensures easy on/off even with gloved hands. Composition: 58% urethane-coated nylon, 24% nylon, 14% rubber-coated nylon and 4% spandex. Average weight per pair is 1 lb. 9 oz. based on size Medium.
